AI regulation - a delicate balancing act?

Ivana Bartoletti, Global Chief Privacy and AI Governance Officer at Wipro, also a Council of Europe adviser on AI and human rights, provides some fascinating insights into the EU AI Act, the UK’s upcoming AI Bill, as well as relevant US legislation, in terms of how much AI regulation is actually based on existing laws around privacy and non-discrimination and also about achieving the balance between AI innovation and AI ethics. Ultimately, AI is set to make a major, positive contribution to our quality of life, so long as AI-driven challenges, such as misinformation and bias, can be kept under control.
