The States of Guernsey has embarked on a transformative step by signing a notable agreement with Apogee, an HP Company, dedicated to supplying new IT hardware to the public sector. This five-year contract, commencing on 1st August, marks a significant stride toward modernizing the IT landscape across government services.
In line with its multi-vendor model vision, the government terminated its previous contract with Agilisys, opting instead for diverse service delivery through multiple providers. Apogee emerges as a key player in this strategic collaboration, poised to deliver essential IT equipment and advanced lifecycle services aimed at enhancing the suite of devices used by public sector staff.
By integrating deskside support and seamless helpdesk integration, Apogee ensures fast resolution of any technical issues, facilitating speedy device replacement when necessary. Renowned for its work with public sector entities across Europe, Apogee's experience is set to serve the unique needs of Guernsey's diverse services, including schools, law enforcement, and healthcare facilities, with an annual IT budget allocation of approximately £1.3 million.
Gé Drossaert, States Chief Digital and Information Officer is "confident that we will see service continuity across the States of Guernsey with this agreement, but we will also see our hardware modernised with the replacement of about 3,000 laptops during the contract. The Service Level Agreement we have signed will ensure that our users’ experience and efficient operation is prioritised, and we will be able to be responsive to future demand."
