The Data Centre Alliance appoints Mike Meyer to Executive Board

The Data Centre Alliance (DCA) has appointed Mike Meyer, Managing Director of Portman Partners, the expert Executive Search business for data centre people, to its Executive Board.

Founded in 2010, the DCA is the UK Trade Association representing the entire data centre community. The association serves as a trusted voice, where knowledge can be both shared and gained, ensuring that key decision-makers and the public understand the vital role data centres play in an increasingly digital world.

As reliance on digital services grows so does the reliance of the data centre sector which underpins it, by educating the market, the DCA is ensuring that this ecosystem remains resilient, sustainable and agile. Securing talent and reshaping future industry leaders amid the ongoing labour challenges has never been more prevalent for the DCA, recognising this, Mike’s appointment looks to help to alleviate these challenges.

With the average employee age in our sector currently standing at 53, the urgency to attract a new generation of talent to replace the existing aging workforce has never been greater. Mikes expertise in talent acquisition and workforce development will be instrumental in supporting DCA initiative specifically designed to address this challenge. As a DCA Executive Board Member, Mike will also be representing the DCA at many of the industry events taking place throughout the year, both supporting existing partners and fostering new collaborations.

Steve Hone, CEO of the Data Centre Alliance, emphasised why Mike was selected for this role: “Mikes deep understanding of the sector, coupled with his passion for talent development, makes him a perfect fit for The DCA’s Executive Board. As digital infrastructure is forecast to triple in the coming years, it is crucial that we address the skills shortage head-on, and Mikes extensive experience will be invaluable”

Mike will continue to represent the DCA at its own events and at DCA Partner events across the UK and Europe in 2025.
