The findings from the report – which included 600 Gen Z respondents - global employees and business leaders – lifts the lid on their attitudes to AI and highlights the vote of confidence – or perhaps dependence - Gen Z workers have on AI in the workplace.
AI enhancing employee satisfaction and career progression
UK Gen Z workers now have more time in the work day thanks to their AI use and they are using the time wisely. The majority (54%) of Gen Z respondents are actively learning new skills with their new found time - helping them develop faster during the early stages of their career. Prioritising further investment into AI at work is inevitable under future Gen Z leadership, given a third (33%) of the demographic credit AI tools to making their working lives more enjoyable.
It isn’t just productivity and enjoyment which Gen Z are gaining from AI – a fifth (20%) have been promoted having produced meaningful work directly assisted by AI. Gen Z is ahead of the curve when it comes to developing their AI skills to progress their careers from the start.
No trust issues amongst Gen Z workers
Trust is now the driving force for successful widespread adoption of AI at work – and AI has earned Gen Z worker’s backing. Already, 64% of UK Gen Z workers believe the technology will bring long-term value to workplace processes. This trusting consensus across the UK workforce spells good news for AI to continue making an impact within the workplace.
We have already seen a rapid rate of AI adoption amongst Gen Z workers, with 92% of respondents now actively harnessing the technology at work. AI’s role in the workplace is still in its infancy when we look at the long-term picture. What Gen Z workers are achieving through this mass adoption during these early stages is building a robust understanding and trust within AI’s capabilities.
UK workplaces set to be AI-powered under Gen Z leadership
Gen Z workers are climbing the corporate ladder quicker than previous generations thanks to AI. Already, 36% of Gen Z workers are reaping the benefits through promotion or salary increase due to their AI expertise. They’re also already gaining an advantage, not just from a productivity perspective, but in direct financial benefits and career progression as well. The next generation of leaders have embraced AI at work and it is likely we will see an uptick on the 52% share of the demographic who believe AI tools are essential to work. Have no doubt that under Gen Z leadership, the future workplace will be powered by AI.
