Perle Systems has launched the IOLAN SCR1618, a secure Out-of-Band Management Console Server with integrated firewall, two-factor authentication (2FA), Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP), advanced failover to multiple networks, and full routing capabilities with support for RIP, OSPF, and BGP protocols. This 32-port Console Server supports RS232 and Ethernet Console Management ports and comes with two SFP Slots supporting 1G fiber, 2.5G fiber, or 10/100/1000Mbps copper network connections.

“As data center infrastructures grow, they require multiple points of resiliency to deal with new points of failure or vulnerabilities,” says John Feeney, COO at Perle Systems. “The IOLAN SCR1618 was designed with remote access monitoring and provisioning at its core. When deployed top-of-rack, or at a remote location, network engineers will have secure remote access to all equipment, as well as, automated provisioning of configuration and firmware files.”

Designed with data center resiliency in mind, the IOLAN SCR1618 Console Server connects to the RS232 or Ethernet RJ45 console management port on equipment such as Cisco, Juniper, HP, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, PBXs, network storage equipment, and security appliances. Automatic failover to multiple networks ensures the data center is always running while simultaneously giving administrators access to critical devices to monitor, manage, troubleshoot, or re-boot as needed.

A built-in firewall and 2-factor authentication ensure access to equipment and data are limited to authorized users. And, remote authentication management, using RADIUS, TACACS+, or LDAP, enables integration with enterprise-grade systems to control access to devices in the field.

To simplify management and respond swiftly to issues, network administrators also have the ability to access all console ports via a single portal view. Perle's cloud-based centralized management solution puts the network and IT infrastructure into a single application and provides secure reliable access and visibility during normal operations and critical network failures. Scalable to suit any business requirement, cloud centralized management reduces human error and guarantees repeatability.

With advanced network security features, recognized authentication schemes, and leading-edge data encryption tools, IT administrators can feel confident that network data transmissions, and all access to the console management ports on IT equipment, is secure. This makes the IOLAN SCR1618 an ideal out of band management solution for IT equipment located in data centers or remote sites.
