Talend goes “all in” with AWS

Talend has achieved status as an Advanced Technology Partner in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN).

Having already been certified as an AWS Big Data Competency Partner, achieving this new tier in Amazon’s APN underscores Talend’s commitment to delivering robust support for the wide variety of AWS products, including Amazon Redshift, Amazon Elastic MapReduce (Amazon EMR), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Kinesis and Amazon Aurora. This new APN status also indicates that Talend Integration Cloud has passed rigorous auditing for security, architectural testing, customer adoption and success, and has demonstrated proven support for customers evaluating and using big data tools, techniques, and technologies on AWS.

“Companies have increasingly been moving both their enterprise applications and databases to the cloud, particularly with the advent of affordable and capable solutions like Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR and Amazon Aurora,” said Mike Pickett, vice president of business development and partner ecosystems, Talend. “AWS is demonstrating strong momentum in its ability to help customers execute new workloads in the cloud such as real-time big data streaming and analytics. We’re eager to continue building on AWS and delivering compelling cloud services that help customers uncover insights in powerful new ways, with the high availability and security they require.”

According to Gartner, Inc., “By 2019, Integration Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS) will be the integration platform of choice for new integration projects, overtaking the annual revenue growth of traditional application integration suites on the way.[1] Whether companies are trying to get better control of their expanding data warehouses, build real-time streaming data workflows in the cloud or analyze cloud data for increased business insight, we believe the AWS ecosystem offers businesses the agility, scalability, ease-of-use and cost savings they seek.

By going “All In” with AWS, Talend has chosen to have its complete product line run on AWS and for it to serve as the core platform for its iPaaS offering. For example, the latest release of Talend Integration Cloud extends the company’s unique ability to allow IT organizations to quickly ‘spin up and spin down’ big data and data integration workloads running on Amazon Redshift or Amazon EMR. Talend Integration Cloud also allows developers to empower departments across the enterprise with Spark-powered, real-time analytics.

In the Insight department at Ticketmaster, we originally introduced Talend for a very specific and isolated use case to pull data from one of our ticketing platforms. But as Talend’s product offering has expanded, so has our use of it and we are now using it to provision data from a multitude of traditional database systems, real-time sources and APIs,” said Andy Townsend, data warehouse manager, Ticketmaster. “The product’s direction is very much aligned with our own technical strategy, specifically to integrate with real-time, cloud and big data services. Whilst the user-based licensing allows us to elastically scale our infrastructure as our needs change.”

Talend’s new Advanced Technology Partner status in the APN and AWS Big Data Competency certification will allow the company to rapidly add new features to their iPaaS solution and leverage the scalability, multitude of database services and enterprise-grade security that is provided by AWS to help companies accelerate their move from legacy data infrastructure to AWS Cloud.

“We are happy to collaborate with Talend to help customers innovate using AWS and cloud. By taking advantage of AWS’s rich set of offerings, operational excellence and rapid pace of innovation, Talend is able to focus its energy on creating solutions that delight its customers while offloading the undifferentiated heavy lifting of managing infrastructure to AWS,” said Terry Wise, vice president of worldwide partner ecosystems, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “We are pleased to see Talend go ‘all in’ with AWS, to deliver solutions and value to its customers that weren’t possible without the cloud.”
