Telco Systems adds 100GE capabilities

Company releases two new 100GE switch platforms to address traffic growth from network core to access points.

Telco Systems has added 100GE capabilities to its switching platform solutions to address the increasing traffic demands from the network core to the access points.
By providing 100GE capabilities, Telco Systems will help service providers to continue to reduce both OPEX and CAPEX. Telco Systems’ new 100GE solutions use the industry leading QSFP28 technology, which brings lowest cost per bandwidth, and will allow service providers to gradually decommission the use of dark fiber WDM-based transport layer.
“These are exciting times for the networking industry and we are proud to be on the forefront of developing important new innovations to help telcos improve performance and provide better services,” said Raanan Tzemach, Vice President of Product, Marketing and Professional Services at Telco Systems. “Our approach to 100GE access overcomes the drawbacks of alternative attempts to expand access and will help meet the ever increasing demand for more bandwidth and the constant need to reduce total cost-of-ownership.”
For service providers, Telco Systems has released its new T-Metro 8100 service aggregation platform with 100GE support. T-Metro 8100 is designed for service providers that need high reliability and flexibility to aggregate multiple services over 1GE, 10GE and 100GE port rates in a metro Ethernet environment. T-Metro 8100 provides carrier-grade service scalability and resiliency along with a comprehensive feature set that supports QoS and OAM capabilities.
T-Metro 8100 allows service providers to offer cloud-based business Ethernet and mobile backhaul services to the network using star or ring topologies.
In addition to supporting Carrier Ethernet 2.0, MPLS and IP (Layer 3), T-Metro 8100 provides full support for OpenFlow, NETCONF and YANG, positioning service providers to future proof their infrastructure for SDN.
Telco Systems has also launched a new 100GE capacity AdvancedTCA switch blade. T-ATCA 510 enables the rapid development of mission critical telecom applications, including LTE evolved packet core (EPC), IP-based multimedia services (IMS) and metro Ethernet aggregation service routing.
T-ATCA 510 is also SDN-enabled and provides an upgrade path that requires only the existing installed base to replace only the SDN-enabled switching element, while allowing continual support in the other computing blades.
