coreTX network deploys PoP in VIRTUS Hayes data centre

C4L has announced its newest Point of Presence (PoP) on coreTX, the service providers high performance data centre network, at VIRTUS’ LONDON2 data centre in Hayes. The agreement to connect LONDON2 to the coreTX network follows many years in partnership at the successful Enfield location, and an exclusive arrangement allowing full suite connectivity, 10Gb circuits and a large footprint of colocation racks within the facility.

The addition of VIRTUS’ LONDON2 data centre in Hayes as a PoP on the coreTX network, unlocks a wide range of products and services to customers already in the facility and provides further expansion options for C4L’s customer base as well. The facility is truly leading edge in design and when combined with coreTX it is an unbeatable proposition, providing tenants and channel partners access to a key DC outside the congested docklands and city locations.

The 65,000 sq. ft. newly opened LONDON2 facility is the first in London to deploy ground breaking fresh-air evaporative cooling technology which dramatically decreases energy consumption, bringing site power usage effectiveness (PUE) to below 1.2, delivering substantial savings to clients in the premises. Together with solar panels, ground water from its own well, chimney racks for heat extraction, highly efficient UPS systems, and other innovative technologies, C4L are delighted to be able to offer services in the most energy-efficient data centre in London.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson previously commented on the LONDON2’s opening “I’m delighted that VIRTUS has chosen to invest in London again. London is leading the global digital technology revolution and is the world’s leading technology hub with great British technology, creativity and innovation. Up and coming companies like VIRTUS are at the heart of that whole explosion of talent in London and I’m delighted to see them using so many state of the art ways of saving energy and improving efficiency”

Pete Hill, Partner Account Director, said: “VIRTUS and C4L have worked collaboratively on business for many years and we are both constantly improving each other’s potential by bringing new and innovative additions to the table. VIRTUS LONDON2 Data Centre is a new breed of DC which opens up a whole world of opportunities through high density racks, allowing huge capacities which wouldn’t have been possible even a year ago, fully serviced out of the site. It has and always will be a pleasure to work with VIRTUS and I am so proud we have connected them to the ever-evolving coreTX network”
