Tenable Network Security has expanded the Nessus® Cloud services into Europe with its software as a service (SaaS) applications hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the AWS EU (Frankfurt) region.
For many businesses and government agencies in the European Union, data protection laws have slowed cloud adoption and prevented customers from using services that store data outside of the EU. However, recent research suggests European businesses want to embrace the cloud. According to a survey of 200 UK and 200 German organizations, conducted by Vanswww.on Bourne on behalf of Tenable, 75 percent of respondents say they do or will trust the cloud with sensitive information.
Tenable’s expansion of Nessus Cloud into the EU offers customers all the benefits of the Nessus vulnerability assessment platform along with the performance, security and scalability of the local AWS infrastructure. With customer data able to be stored within the AWS EU (Frankfurt) region, compliance with data privacy regulations is now easier for European Nessus Cloud customers.
“As more organizations adopt the cloud for everyday use, security and privacy remain critical concerns, particularly in the EU,” said Ron Gula, CEO, Tenable Network Security. “For customers who want the ease of doing business in the cloud, combined with industry-leading vulnerability management in their local market, the availability of Nessus Cloud in the AWS EU (Frankfurt) region offers a flexible security solution without geographic barriers.”
Nessus Cloud combines the detection, scanning and auditing features of Nessus with multi-user support for enterprise teams and is a PCI DSS Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) solution. The enhanced remote management and collaboration features allow security, compliance, IT and other staff to work together on their vulnerability management program. Nessus Cloud runs on AWS, enabling Tenable to take advantage of the AWS global infrastructure and deploy Nessus Cloud easily across AWS regions.
“Worldwide, businesses are increasingly using cloud technology to innovate their products and services,” said Hal Bennett, general manager, global ISVs and technology partners, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “With the ability to deploy Tenable’s Nessus Cloud technology in the AWS EU (Frankfurt) region, European businesses can continue to grow their security programs while meeting local compliance standards, and keeping their data in the region they prefer.”
