As enterprise IT construction experienced rapid development over the past years, enterprises have become increasingly dependent on IT systems, and they put a strong emphasis on the construction of service continuity disaster recovery systems to ensure the stable and continuous running of IT systems. To provide comprehensive disaster recovery for cloud data centers that employ the OpenStack architecture, the cloud disaster recovery solution, released at the Huawei Cloud Congress 2015, incorporates Huawei's mature Disaster Recovery Data Center Solution (Active-Active Mode), that was released in September 2014, as well as cloud management platform ManageOne, disaster recovery management software BCManager, storage service platform OceanStor DJ, OpenStack interface extensions, virtualization, active-active storage feature HyperMetro, and virtual machine backup software eBackup. Huawei's cloud disaster recovery solution provides disaster recovery services for tenants through an operation management platform provided by Huawei or a third party. Tenants or service departments can configure a disaster recovery service level agreement (SLA) such as active-active, active-standby, and data backup in a self-service manner, shortening the disaster recovery construction time from months to minutes. Service departments can also perform disaster recovery drills on their own, simplifying maintenance and minimizing the recovery time objective (RTO).
Huawei has maintained rapid growth in the cloud computing and data center fields. By the end of August 2015, Huawei had constructed a total of 660 data centers across the globe, 255 of which are cloud data centers.
