Dimension Data has launched the Dimension Data Private Cloud Enterprise Edition, the first in a portfolio of flexible private cloud solutions that facilitates moving strategic, production applications to the cloud. Private Cloud Enterprise Edition is based on the resilient VCE Vblock architecture and is the first new solution launched as part of the Catalyst Alliance between Dimension Data and EMC.
Research shows a sustained interest in private cloud as a fundamental component of a hybrid cloud strategy. A recent Technology Business Research (TBR) survey identified a growing trend of CIO and CTOs looking for custom cloud services aligned to specific requirements for enterprise applications and workloads as an important driver for private cloud.
The Dimension Data Private Cloud Enterprise Edition removes barriers to private cloud adoption like large up front capital expense and the involvement of staff that would add to the cost. It introduces a number of unique and important features and benefits that include networking essentials, enhanced security and Dimension Data Cloud Control for automated provisioning, orchestration and automation to support a hybrid cloud strategy.
The Dimension Data Private Cloud Enterprise Edition now delivers a world-class client experience featuring:
· Global availability with an industry-leading 99.999% service level agreement (SLA)
· Ability to deploy anywhere (on the client's premise, or one of 18 Dimension Data data centres located on six continents)
· Consumption pricing enabling the ability to scale up and flex back capacity based on application and workload requirements
· Right-sized for most enterprises, with flexible pricing models driven by application and workload requirements
· Lower risk and faster time-to-value by ready for workload targets of eight weeks verses months or years associated with the “do it yourself” private cloud
“The ‘Application Driven Cloud’ is a new cloud strategy where applications and data drive the decision for when sharing works – and when it does not,” said Pam Casale, SVP Marketing – IT as a Service. “For companies with an ambition to become a digital enterprise, private cloud will accelerate the transformation.”
