SanDisk unveils design win for Fusion ioMemory

SanDisk Corporation's Fusion ioMemory™ PCIe PX600 application accelerator is now shipping in FUJITSU server PRIMERGY (RX2530, RX2540, RX2560, RX4470) servers Fujitsu selected Fusion ioMemory PCIe application accelerators after extensive testing under a variety of enterprise workloads and end-user scenarios. These tests proved that SanDisk’s Fusion ioMemory PCIe cards achieved the highest reliability, was the highest performing, and offered the highest capacity available on the market today. When utilised in its PRIMERGY servers, Fusion ioMemory application accelerators deliver significant performance improvements, while lowering overall total cost of acquisition (TCA) and total cost of ownership (TCO).

The total integrated systems market will grow from $7.3 billion in 2013 to $17.9 billion in 2018, according to IDC, representing a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19.6 percent[1] because they provide better overall efficiency and reduce management while lowering cost for implementing and operating data center solutions.

“Fusion-io’s technology fundamentally transformed expectations about data centre performance and when coupled with SanDisk’s vertically integrated NAND flash, it provides customers with an unparalleled combination of flexibility, performance, scalability, quality and value,” said Ute Gregorius, general manager for EMEA & director for Central Europe, SanDisk. “We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Fujitsu to extend include the PRIMERGY server lines to provide customers with powerful solutions to address their most demanding enterprise environments.”

Fujitsu is committed to delivering systems that are ideal for mixed-use workloads in industries such as government, financial services, universities, oil & gas and more. These use cases need high performance solutions that are also cost effective and reliable, which is made possible through the use of SanDisk’s Fusion ioMemory technology.

“Our Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers are designed to perform under a variety of application workloads including virtualisation, databases, business intelligence and real-time financial data processing,” said Uwe Neumeier, Vice President Global Server Business Service Platform. “Utilising the next generation Fusion ioMemory PX600 PCIe card with our PRIMERGY series provides our customers with a cost-efficient solution that delivers significant improvements in application performance with a persistent, high-performance and high-capacity storage tier.”

Together, SanDisk and Fujitsu have successfully created a cost-effective, high-performance and reliable system specifically designed for database acceleration, virtualisation and SAP Hana environments. With the ability to scale up to 5.2TB and offering up to four-card configurations in one unit, the PRIMERGY server is the best PCIe flash-based server with outstanding data transfer capabilities and ultra-low latency.
