Your IT Works reconfirms its commitment to cloud transparency

Service software provider recertifies against CIF Code of Practice.

APM Group, the Cloud Industry Forum’s (CIF) independent certification partner, has announced that Your IT Works, a provider of bespoke cloud solutions, has successfully recertified against the CIF Code of Practice, confirming its commitment to transparency, accountability and capability in the provision of cloud services.

Based in Milton Keynes, Your IT Works is a global specialist provider of enterprise hosted desktop solutions and IT support services, including back-up and disaster recovery, enterprise wireless, and IT consultancy. This is the third time that Your IT Works has certified against the Code of Practice; something they believe continues to remain very relevant in an ever-changing market.

Tony Capewell, Director at Your IT Works, explained: “Our customers are becoming increasingly attuned to what is, and what isn’t, acceptable as far as their cloud services go. Businesses want to know that their data will be properly protected in the cloud, and that the CSP they entrust their data to is a responsible one. The Code of Practice cuts through the marketing hype typical of the cloud industry, and ensures that all of the key information that an end user has come to expect from a provider is readily and publicly available, enabling an informed decision about their choice of cloud partner.

“We have been in the hosting industry for a long time, and have garnered a great deal of experience. The Code of Practice allows us to package this experience up and communicate it to customers in a way that is simple and easy to understand, which is why the scheme is something we are fully committed to,” he continued.

The use of the CIF certification mark on a vendor’s website serves two clear purposes: it makes a public declaration of professional and commercial intent on the part of the cloud service provider and it provides a visual mark of recognition that engenders confidence in the end user that the organisation is open and professional in its commercial activities.

Richard Pharro, CEO of APM Group, added: “By measuring themselves against the Code of Practice, Your IT Works has demonstrated a professional commitment to operating in a transparent and accountable manner. The Code of Practice is about setting a bar for every CSP to aspire to and a target that the cloud industry should see as the universal standard. We are very pleased to be able to continue our work with them and hope that more will follow their example and get certified.”
