Barracuda names Ken Grohe as Senior Vice President & General Manager of Emerging Products

Barracuda Networks, Inc. has announced that storage industry veteran Ken Grohe has joined the company as senior vice president & general manager of emerging products. Grohe brings more than 26 years of technology experience to Barracuda, most recently as vice president of worldwide customer operations at Virident, which was acquired by HGST, a division of Western Digital.

At Barracuda, Grohe has responsibility for the CudaTel and CudaEye product lines, and will help drive sales for Barracuda Copy, the company’s file, sync and share platform, and SignNow, the company’s eSignature service. Additionally, he will build and drive growth programmes to push Barracuda’s Total Threat Protection and Data Protection Plus initiatives into Barracuda’s CRN-rated 5-Star Partner Programme.

“I am thrilled to bring Ken on board to lead the efforts associated with our emerging product lines and to help expand our channel,” said BJ Jenkins, CEO at Barracuda. “Each of these solutions has a significant opportunity to help our customers and drive our growth. I have known Ken for quite some time and believe his energy and skillset will be instrumental in our continued success.”

"Ken is an industry star joining a growing company,” said Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst at ESG. “Barracuda continues to impress with its talent acquisition and its relentless execution."

Grohe joins Barracuda from Virident/HGST, where he served as vice president of worldwide customer operations since April 2013. While at Virident, he expanded the sales and partner teams, and acquired new customers and OEMs, which contributed to its $685 million acquisition by HGST, a division of Western Digital. Previously, Grohe was at EMC for more than 25 years. While at EMC, he held a number of executive sales and partner positions and led several internal “start-up” disruption technologies that helped grow the company.

“As I look forward to the potential of our emerging product categories, I am excited to help enable and accelerate our Total Threat Protection and Data Protection Plus initiatives to further establish Barracuda as the solution of choice for our customers and partners,” said Grohe.
