Check Point has announced the launch of its new 41000 Security System, a further expansion of the company's high-performance, scalable network security portfolio. The 41000 Security System delivers optimal security performance with up to 40 Gbps of real-life firewall throughput, and 25 Gbps of real-life IPS throughput.

Large data centres and telecommunications infrastructures need performance, up-time and scalability without compromise. Additionally, these environments often have rigid requirements for high reliability. The 41000 Security System leverages the same multi-blade hardware architecture found in the Check Point 61000, giving data centres and telecommunication providers optimised scalable security and high reliability in real-life environments.

"Data centre and telecommunications environments demand optimal performance with the most advanced security protections. The 41000 builds upon the technology found in the industry's fastest Security System, the Check Point 61000, and delivers the power, extensibility and performance needed to secure the data centre of the future," said Dorit Dor, vice president of products at Check Point Software Technologies. "Protecting demanding network environment requires that both security and performance to be uncompromised. The 41000 Security System brings together Check Point's innovative hardware and software solutions that in turn accelerate network security."

Leveraging the field-proven, carrier grade platform, the 41000 is a medium-size 6U Security System with the same hardware blades found in the 61000. The 41000 offers more segmentation and connectivity with high port density of up to 30x10GbE and is the only 6U system to offer high speed interfaces of 40GbE.

Features of the Check Point 41000 Security System include:
· Enhanced performance of up to 11,000 SPU, nearly 3X higher than the 13500 or the 21700 Appliances.
· Connection capacity of up to 80 million concurrent connections and 1.1 million connections per second for demanding transaction environments.
· Highly reliable architecture with complete redundancy and hot swappable blades power supplies and fans.
