NGD will support Efar’s future growth by providing the space, power and connectivity infrastructure for meeting the growing data communications and storage demands of its customers including major aerospace, automotive and financial sector organisations. With its metered provision of 12kva to racks and a strategic position on the national grid, NGD Europe will enable Efar to meet all its requirements per rack while lowering the costs across its estate by using fewer racks.
“We are also able to achieve speed of light connectivity with low latency but without the high colocation rental costs found within the M25,” said Matthew Wring, Efar’s Technical Director. “We can place a Point of Interconnect (POI) from communication partners such as Virgin Media as well as take Wavenet fibre circuits via NGD’s direct Level 3 connection back to Efar’s London Peering points.”
Added Matthew Wring: “The evaluation criteria was based on our experience of using facilities at Telehouse in London, Equinix in Slough and our own Bristol headquarters. NGD offers us a low cost base while ticking all the boxes for power, connectivity, ease of access and security.”
Quick and easy transportation links along the M4 corridor between Efar’s Bristol headquarters and the NGD Europe facility was also seen as an important consideration together with comprehensive on-site support and extensive meeting facilities.
“We are delighted to have an ISP of Efar’s calibre on board as a partner and recognise their commitment to our data centre helps enhance our connectivity capabilities - an example being their assistance in ensuring NGD became a full Level 3 Point of Presence (POP),” commented Lee Cauchie, NGD’s Head of Channel.
