Workspace Virtualisation leader RES Software has announced the appointment of Mark Pooley as Regional Director for the UK & Ireland.
Leading RES Software’s UK partner and sales team, Mark will be responsible for spearheading relationships with customers to ensure the continued delivery of best-in-class customer support and services. He will also cement relationships to maximise market opportunities for RES Software’s sales partners and its market-leading RES Workspace Virtualisation Suite.
Under Mark’s leadership, RES Software plans to double the sales capacity in the UK & Ireland in order to serve the growing UK market. The region has already achieved significant growth, with license bookings for the first half of 2013 increasing by more than 85 per cent year-over-year.
“Mark has a proven pedigree in developing strong customer relationships by using IT to deliver them business advantage. He is therefore ideally placed to help our customers’ IT departments rethink their desktop strategy and introduce IT service delivery models that are automated to increase enterprise productivity,” said Kees van Bekkum, Executive Vice President of Global Sales, RES Software. “The UK is one of our highest priorities in EMEA and his experience of establishing a profitable line of business will help us to expand the UK business and boost our sales partners’ revenues.”
With more than 20 years’ technology sales experience, Mark joins RES Software from Citrix, where he was a senior director leading the European sales teams across six regions, following Citrix’s acquisition of application migration and management specialist App-DNA. Previously, Mark held senior-level European and global sales roles with App-DNA, where he was responsible for strategy development and the management of key alliance channel partnerships. He has also held business development positions at VMware and Sun Microsystems.
Already experiencing significant market growth, RES Software is increasing the number of employees in the UK to meet demand for the impending launch of its new RES IT Store solution, which will allow users to request access to applications, data and a wide array of IT services via self-service.
