FiberRing expands German IP network

The addition of these PoPs in Germany backs FiberRing’s strategy of addressing the important German market in terms of IP traffic growth and needs fulfilment by network service providers. These two PoPs join FiberRing’s Points of Presence at Interxion and TelecityGroup in Frankfurt to expand FiberRing’s German IP network and strengthen the international physical presence of the company.

FiberRing upgraded its existing network in Germany with some of the most advanced routers from Juniper and Cisco. This dual-vendor strategy allows FiberRing to offer a robust best-of-breed network solution designed to process high volumes of IP Transit and minimise downtime.
For existing international users of FiberRing’s IP network, the two additional PoPs provide more options to establish peering connections with other users on the IP network, reducing latency and helping to secure cost savings.

The IP network expansion in Germany follows recent expansion in the Netherlands which saw FiberRing set up PoPs within two Amsterdam data centers, bringing FiberRing’s total number of PoPs in the Amsterdam region to eighteen. FiberRing is able to scale bandwidth speeds between 10 Megabits per second (Mbps) and 100 Gigabits per second (Gbps) per data center location. The overall bandwidth speed in FiberRing’s worldwide network is now 2,000 Gbps. Along with hosting providers, telecom carriers, mobile operators, VoIP providers, and cable providers make use of FiberRing’s worldwide IP network.
