Auditors warn businesses are falling further behind cyber attackers

Businesses are not doing enough to combat cyber risks despite an increased awareness of the need to take cyber security seriously, warn auditors. The ICAEW report, Audit Insights: Cyber Security, says there is a growing gap between business and cyber attacker capabilities, with economic growth and new business activity continuously creating new cyber risks.

Majority of IT security professionals still naively rely on perimeter security to protect against APTs

A new survey from Lieberman Software Corporation has revealed that 78 percent of IT security professionals are confident that firewalls and antimalware tools are robust enough to combat today’s advanced persistent threats.
